Job

Logistic Employee

Job description

BKL is seeking a detail-oriented colleague with a keen interest in logistics operations and integrated automation. The Logistics team consists of six colleagues and needs to expand in order to keep pace with BKL’s continued growth. The department is responsible for goods receipt, storage, issuing of parts and the shipment of finished products to our customers. In addition, the team is accountable for the set-up of its own facilities, such as warehouse space and inventory management.

In recent years, the department has developed from an operational, task-focused function into a more managing and coordinating role as a facilitator of the production process and the streamlining of goods flows. This includes further inventory registration, expansion of the ERP system, implementation of an automated warehouse for smaller parts, a WMS with mobile user interfaces (QR code scanner), and taking over the purchasing function for facility-related items such as PPE (personal protective equipment) and tools.

Logistics is part of BKL’s Operations department. Together with around 50 colleagues, we manufacture specialist machines and parts from drawing through to delivery, and we carry out maintenance and repairs on machines on behalf of a wide range of customers. BKL Operations has the ambition to grow in the coming years in order to serve a broader range of customers. You can contribute to that growth.

  • Check incoming goods for correctness of delivery note, order numbers and packaging.
  • Label goods and ensure the correct next logistics step.
  • Store goods using our WMS.
  • Use a reach truck, forklift truck or electric pallet truck (EPT); if required, we will provide certification.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, prepare proposals, discuss them and implement the improvements.

Job requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with logistics systems
  • Customer-friendly towards colleagues and drivers
  • Enthusiastic about continuous improvement
  • Confident with barcode scanners/mobile devices to enable smarter ways of working
  • MBO level (intermediate vocational education) gained through qualification or experience
